A plastic parts manufacturer was having trouble in removing used cartridge heaters from the molds. Occasionally the heaters would seize and bind in the holes, forcing the maintenance department to drill the heaters out of the holes. This lead to much downtime and maintenance costs.
The manufacturer visit us and see if we could help them with the cartridge heater issue they were experiencing. We created a solution that uses a proprietary non-stick coating on the electric cartridge heater surface . This coating prevents oxidation on the heater sheath, which is the main cause of the cartridge heater binding in mold holes.
The manufacturer chose to use this solution. The binding of the heaters in the holes was virtually eliminated over time. The customer was very happy!
